I Corinthians 11:8-9 "For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man."
The Bible's decree of male supremacy has kept woman inferior to men for centuries. For the religious, it comes as a sad fact that a human must have a penis to receive any respect or power within the Church.
All woman should realize that such phrases in the Bible has justified for many Christian men, not only their supremacy but a reason to sexually abuse women. (See also I Cor. 14:34-36, I Timothy 2:8-15, I Peter 3:1-7, Ephesians 5:22-24, Col. 3:18-19)

Prejudice against women was started by the Anachim Marduk in pre-biblical times. He hated 2 goddesses, his aunt and one influential niece. When he assumed power, he purposefully started the prejudice. The Bible just picked it up from this tradition.

Punter, have you noticed how few answers you get? And how few Christians answer? It's not because we're hiding under our keyboards. You just ask the most anemic, the most sophomoric "I Got You Now Christian!" questions.

Look up the word "context" in the dictionary. Kick your dog or do whatever else it is you do to vent your anger. Find some better anti-Christian web sites, and get back to us. I mean these are just plain lame...

I Corinthians 11:8-9 – He’s using the order men and women were created in Genesis (which he would have accepted at face value at the time) to emphasize that women should be respectful to their husbands by keeping their heads covered in church. Not having your head covered was a sign that you were a prostitute. *That’s* the point of that section.

I Cor. 14:34-36 (Women not talking in church.) Because they sat in the back, and the culture at the time was to ask their husbands (sitting in front) when they had questions. That interrupted things and distracted everyone. And not talking in church is still pretty widely practiced today.

I Timothy 2:8-15 (Women shouldn’t have authority over men.) Note the context is **in church**. Much debated but hardly a defense of your accusations. My (fairly conservative Evangelical) church won’t let a women be the *senior* pastor based on this passage.

I Peter 3:1-7 and Ephesians 5:22-24 (Women submitting to your husbands.) Just keep reading there in Ephesians and you’ll see it works both ways. This parallel is mentioned a couple of places, it’s not a one-sided arrangement. It even tells each person “In the same way….” For a real scare go to 1Cor7: A man’s body belongs to his wife! Oh the horror!

Col. 3:18-19 (wives submit to husbands, husbands love your wives) I think you really meant to leave verse 19 off. It’s a shorter version of the parallel passages mentioned above.

Try a little context next time. Heck, I could pull individual phrases out of Winnie the Pooh and support your accusations just as well. Jesus and Pooh – the Great Misogynists.

of course it does. we used to be supreme over them so when they beat us down they wrote crap like that to remind men to always keep us inferior and without any rights.
and i think you mean genital organs. the damned bible doesn't know anything about genetics.

Pookie that town got destroyed by god for their wickedness. try a little research first. what i don't like about that story was the part where the father offers his virgin daughters to the sodomy gang like they weren't worth protecting.
