Hi,

I've a few questions if anyone can adivse??

Where does good veggie burgers in New York? I mean the pretend meat kind, and not the ones with vegetables or kidney beans in?

Where else good is there to eat. Indian or Italian. Somewhere not too expensive, but nice?

Also, any good 80's bars/clubs? Coming in Feb and would like to know where to go for a drink, and like 80's music.

Would welcome any advice.
thanks

You HAVE to go to Zen Palate while you're there. It's just awesome!: http://www.toprestaurants.com/ny/zenpalate-ny.htm

Candle Cafe is also really good but it's upscale so WAY more expensive: http://www.candlecafe.com/

Vegetarian Dim Sum House is a little different... and they have a coupon available on their site: http://www.vegetariandshouse.com/

Sacred Chow is really good and fairly inexpensive too: http://www.sacredchow.com/ They even have an organic wine list! They have small plate (like tapas) selections so you can try several things and some really good hero-type subs.

Here's a few more options from About.com: http://manhattan.about.com/od/restaurantsandnightlife/tp/veganrestaurant.htm

Can't help with the 80's club....

Check out www.happycow.net and www.vegdining.com; NYC has more vegetarian places than you can shake a stick at.

Kate's Joint, on Avenue B, is a funky little vegetarian diner, and they have burgers and sandwiches.

They don't have burgers, but Red Bamboo, in the Village, has lots of good faux-meat products. However, it's a small place, and you will invariably have to wait for a table.

Zen Palate has good veggie burgers..and they have 3 or 4 locations in NYC.

As for an 80's club...the only one I can think of is Culture Club..which recently closed down. But according to their website...they are reopening...(no specific date) You may want to email them or ask if they know of any other 80s clubs.

Why eat the 'fake meat' kind? If you want something that resembles meat, just go ahead and eat a meat one!

Veggie burgers are great in their own right, get a propper one, made from veggies/beans/grains. Much better tasting, much better for you. I like better burger, and their organic air baked fries are to die for.

SORRY, but how can a "veggie" burger be good, when the mass produced "meat" ones are bad to start with?

Try Dojo's. It's located on 4th street off of Broadway. It's a Japanese/American restaurant. They have great tofu burgers. Their food is awesome.
