ok yesterday i drank a shot of washing up liquid as a dare at my mates house and this is what happened;first i was coughing bubbles which we though was rather ammusing then i cudnt do it and started getting ill and my throat starting hurting den after whalf a hour or so i got a bit worse i let me head lay over bowl i didnt puke then when i went home i puked all over the road about 6 times... i wasnt puking up washing up liquid just my dinner (of which i cud see ... it was dark) and then after pucking my throat was killing and i couldnt swallow becuase it cuased imense pain and bread and water ddint help ... i eventually got to bed and my throat still hurts but not as much... and i got a stomach ache... also throughout the exsperiance yesterday my mouth got increasingly watery and still it today... so why did all those symptons appear ... the sick was cuase it didnt like it right but why the watery mouth and ultimately why the hurting throat ... (sorry bout the dreadful spelling)

It may have had bleach in it.
See a doctor.

its probably hurting from two things, firstly, the dishwashing liquid is a harsh chemical which strips your throat and stomach of its natural protective lining and also when it came back up with your dinner, you would have had the dishwashing liquid and stomach acid to burn your throat again. If I were you I would keep drinking and drinking to flush it out of your system and then if you dont feel better within 24 hrs seek medical help. Dishwashing liquid has been known to give people stomach ulcers in its weakest form and stomach ulcers are not nice. Hope you feel better soon!

Looking at the MSDS for two different types of washing up liquids, both recommend NOT to induce vomiting, and to seek medical advice.

Go to the hospital. Get a professional opinion immediately. Bring a container of the same cleanser, if you can (for a list of the active agents). The degreasers or detergents may have damaged/eaten the lining of your digestive tract.

well my friend lets do a bit of english doctor diagnostation lol its probably because the washing up liquid got stuck in the cilia in your pharynx putting this in english
Their is first the pharynx then the voice box (the larynx)
then your stomach the washing up liquided irated your stomach and as for your sore throat id say that because you pharynx filters dust out of your mouth by moving it along with microscopic hair like projections callled cillia and in your case some washing up liquid could have some trouble leaving via your mouth so it would have to leave through your feacces lol and by doing this would cause an upset stomach answer your question or alergic reaction eithe one old boy

Because washing stuff has bleach and lots of other chemicals in it. People use the stuff to kill them selves with. next time drink lots of milk to delute it otherwise you will die.
