3 years ago, one of my colleagues at Uni back then used a laptop in class to take lecture notes, she uses a document that is ruled on the screen like a notebook and it looked very nice to type on during lectures, unlike MS Word, Notepad or Wordpad which are just plain sheets. Has anyone come across this computer programme and could anyone please tell me how I could download it on my laptop.

Thank you

Thanks, but it isn't excel, the ruling is more like that of an exercise book, not a spreadsheet

Sounds like Excel, the most prevalent spreadsheet around. It can be obtained as part of Microsoft Office, or a more sophisticated version as a stand alone. Buy it as you would any other software, but first make sure you don't actually already have it on your laptop. What you are looking for is a spreadsheet. Good Luck

This sounds a bit like Microsoft's OneNote, a part of the Office suite - it presents a ruled page which you can type on, or draw on if you have a touch-sensitive screen.

Try MS Word Templates like this one.
