How pregnant is she, you dont say when she is due, or is she having them now??
Little dogs have puppies just like big dogs. Get yourself down to the library or on the net and do your research which ideally should have been done before you let her get pregnant, or at least when you knew she became pregnant. You have to use common sense here, if you think there are problems then you call the vet he will tell you the best course of action to take at the time, he is trained for that.Give her some space when she is having the pups watch from a safe distance do not overcrowd her, but be where you can keep a safe eye on her.

Well what kind of dog did she mate with? It it was a bigger breed than her then yes, she problems with have problems passing them and will need a casesarean, which is risky and expensive.

Which brings me to the question, why did you let her become pregnant if this was a concern?

Many small breeds can have difficulties whelping so you need to get your dog to the vet to have the pregnancy monitored so that if any problems arise you will be ready and able to get the dog help, if needed.

Go to see a vet, thats the best thing you can do.
They can see how many puppies your dog is going to get. And also if she is healthy and strong enough.

I hope your poor dog lives through this and if she doesn't you have yourself to blame for being such an irresponsible owner.

You should have got her spayed. PERIOD. Now your poor dog has to go through all this pain because of YOU.

If your so worried about your dog and you should be. Take her to the vet for crying out loud.

many small dogs require a cecarian to deliver the pups.. which can cost around $1000-2000.. if there are complications, or it needs to be done at the ER vet, it can cost more.

I saw a chihuahua give birth. It wasn't pretty, but she was fine. Don't make it stressful for her - let nature take its course.
