You are going to have to purchase XP and remove vista and install your new copy of XP. I just purchased and built a new pc and I refused to put vista in because of all the problems people are experiencing. XP isn't as cool, but I know it inside and out. I've experienced every problem imaginable and fixed them. I will wait until they work out more bugs before I purchase Vista. Probably in about a year. Just purchase XP, and then in about a year, re-install your version of Vista, they should have most of the bugs fixed and it will actually be more enjoyable for you.

Uninstall the Vista and install the XP but be sure that the XP is a full install version and not an upgrade.

If you decide to install Windows XP, you may choose to have two operating systems installed on your machine or reformat your hard drive and have only one operating system. Through my own experiences, having two operating systems installed on a single hard drive can and will most likely give you problems if you are unfamiliar with it.

Anyways . . .
you need to get a Windows XP installation disc.
Once you get it, put it into your CD or DVD drive depending on your XP's disc media.
Then reboot your computer and follow the instructions, it will tell you to press any key to boot from CD. Yes, you will want to press any key.
Follow through with the Windows XP installation.
