I have not been to Nunavut, but I have lived in Whitehorse and very far North in Northern Alberta.
It is absolutely beautiful in the North! You cannot imagine the pure untouched beauty -- it makes me feel the presence of God so closely!
Yes, it is obviously cold, but you're inside where it's warm. And if not inside, then you are probably driving somewhere.
The Northern Lights are absolutely breathtaking. And the VERY BEST thing about living in the far North -- for 3 months of the year, you never have night! This is magical for me, who can never get enough of the sun.
The North is the most amazing place on earth!

don't people live in extreme areas all over the world, why do people live in slums in spain?
personally i would love to live there for a year. people think hawaii is exotic, but isn't the arctic? sure it's cold but you would be experiencing a whole other culture barely known, seeing animals barely seen, and experiencing nature not well known around the world.
the part of canada i live in is literally the complete opposite (climate), and yet nunavut is so compelling. i've seen so much of this country, yet not many people in the world have seen anything close to nunavut.

Its main function is as a military base.Very small population. Broad understanding is hardy people living in an isolated area. There is not a lot of "cultural activity" there are many web sites that have information on this place.

no clue majority of Canadians do not live that far north .most canadians who live their have it through their ancestoral background ( eskimos)
I am still trying to figure out why americans would live in Alaska that is way too cold for me ...or some people build homes in areas where they know its a hurricame belt and disaster is eneditable .Or in the areas of california where your more at risk to get fires

it's what you're used to.
To people of the tropics, many parts of the northern US are very extreme.
Nunavut is basically the only part of Canada I've never been to; I'd live to go (in summer).
