There is a reason for that,I dont know about India but I live in Pakistan and your right several cities are ended with BAD but it actually ends with ABAD meaning "populated or settled" (this is in Urdu) e.g. Islamabad (Islam-abad) means the place where islam is populated.If you have any doubts check a english-urdu dictionary,it would be easier to check for population or civilization which means abadi in urdu.

Russian cities end in 'grad' which comes from 'gorod' which means city or town. BosTON, WashingTON, LexingTON, etc stands for all the fat people that live there. I live in Phillie which means love your brother until he puts the touch on you.

In Urdu language ''abad'' means 'town'' and not as you think
BAD opposite of Good.
Hyder abad means Town of Hyder (a proper name)
Islam abad means Town of Islam
and so on.
In their language 'guy' means COW . Should we call you all
COWS?

buddy "BAD" here doesnot mean bad as in the english meaning of the word...
"BAD" here comes from the urdu word "AABAAD" WHICH MEANS "POPULATED" i.e it refers to a city or a town inhabited by its folks..
hope i resolved ur surprise abt INDIAN AND PAKISTAN'S CITIES HAVIN "BAD " IN THEIR NAMES
