I am trying to make a slideshow of a trip and when I insert a picture from my files, it leaves the picture too large. I don't know how to make it smaller. Can anyone help me?

It depends on your picture. If it is clipart, it should have handle bars once it is selected. If it does, you can select any corner to make it larger or smaller. If the picture is in your files, you can open it with Microsoft Picture Manager. Select edit picture, resize and then choose the size you want. Be sure to click OK after you are done, so the new picture will be saved smaller (or larger if that's what you choose to do). Or you can open it in Paint. This is a little tricky to work with. You have to open Paint and paste the picture from whatever location you have it stored. You can then select the handle bars and make the picture larger or smaller.

You should be able to resize the picture by clicking on it and
1) hover the mouse curser over the border of the picture untill it changes shape to something like a left-right arrow then while holding the left mouse button down just move the borders to the right size
2) with the moue curosr over the picture click on it ONCE only then click the right mouse button, you have an option to format picture or format object there you will find the option to resize it

Try using the free alternative office suite - the OpenOffice. It has a similar program called Impress.

Have fun!
