the tint itself is a violation, that can give a police officer a reason to pull over a car. if they find more violations afterwards, they are subsequent violations and the window tint which is a minor violation served as probable cause....

Yep. The reasoning is that they should be able to see the driver of the car. If your windows are tinted, you must be hiding something.
