I read my own writing? It's never when I'm reading a book, or any other peice of writing, it's always when I read something I wrote. Wiether it's a report or an essay or just a short story? It's quite annoying when proofreading, does anyone have any solutions to this and why it's happening?

Perhaps you're connecting to emotion? You could try some connective breathing exercises (like Donald Epstein's somatorespiratory integration, you could find out about it at www.donaldepstein.com). If this is the problem, the answer is getting more connected, not less.
