Hey all :(

I BINGE 1 - 2 EVENINGS A WEEK. Tonight I've caught myself ... so far I've had 5 handfulls of cheetos, 5 handfulls of cheezies, 2 mini chocolate bars and 1 large chocolate bar.

PLEASE HELP ME. I've caught myself and I wanna not continue. I WANT TO TAKE CONTROL OF MYSELF. I feel like a complete piece of sh!t right now.

I'm female with a bmi of 20. I usually exercise 3 - 5 times a week and usually eat really healthy but I've come to notice that I binge in the night-time 1 - 2 times a week... on weekends.

I still live at home, and the family always has that stuff around.

This is really simple...go to your cheetos and chocolate stash...and THROW IT AWAY! Get rid of all the bad stuff, fill your cupboards with good stuff, and you're on your way. If the junk isn't around, you can't eat it.

Willpower comes and goes, so why test it? Better to not put yourself in the position to fail. I did this, and I have 4 kids. They hated me at first, but they learned to eat healthier snacks, like lowfat yogurt, fruit and cereal. You won't get fat if you binge on fresh fruits and yogurt. In other words, your WHOLE family will benefit from getting rid of the junk food, not just you. My kids are not overweight, but don't NEED the junkfood around. Neither does your family. If eating that stuff is becoming a problem for you, than they should help you by doing without themselves, or they could store it secretely where you can't find it.

First step is catching yourself, now you need to have a better relationship to food. If you really can't fight the binge, binge on veggies or fruit. Popcorn made in an air popper with Molly mcbutter,or the butter spray is good. You will feel better about the binge if its healthy, and feeling like a piece of sh** is going to sabatoge you efforts and make you want to keep on binging, Pat yourself on the back for catching yourself. Cut yourself some slack here. You did good tonight. You stopped.

its very hard and often impossible without reprocussions to stop completely at once, so the best thing to do is eat when hungry but cut back the amount you let yourself eat.

Dont expect to cut down from 5 things down to 1 in one day. it will be more effective if you wean yourself off the behavior. And if you're truly hungry, try some tea or water with lemon.

Eat small meals throughout the day (200-300 cals) to keep yourself satisfied and not hungry, and you wont think about eating as much.

You can't do it alone. You need to talk to someone. It's not an issue of self control anymore, it's an issue of life or death. Continuing to binge can lead to major health problems, not just in the long run. Major upper digestive problems (stomach and esophogus) have been linked to binge eating, especially when followed by purging.

Get professional help as soon as you can. You and a doctor or psychologist can help you with a plan to change your behavior. You've got to want it.
