How can I insert a folder of photos into PowerPoint which will play as a slideshow?

Hi,

It depends upon which version of PowerPoint you are using.

If you're using a Mac, there's a link below that explains what to do.

If you are using Windows, then you use the Insert menu and create a photo album.
