Penicillin eliminates bacteria that cause many kinds of infections, including pneumonia; meningitis; and skin, bone, joint, stomach, blood, and heart valve infections.
Penicillin V potassium is an antibiotic used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as pneumonia, scarlet fever, and ear, skin, and throat infections. It also is used to prevent recurrent rheumatic fever and chorea. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Penicillin is a molds way of telling a bacteria to GO AWAY! subsequent development of antibiotics was at first based on the structure of penicillin (with broader spectrums of activity). A whole new class of antibiotics called cephalosporins is structurally similar to the original penicillin molecule as well.

Absolutely, it was the first antibiotic discovered. It was discovered by accident by Alexander Fleming as he was conducting an experiment some mold inadvertently ended up on a piece of bread and this led to the discovery of penicillin. Stange but true.

yes it is an antibiotic.it is made by fungus penicillium.these attack a fairly narrow range of bacteria and are therefore callad narrow-spectrum antibiotics.

pencillin is not an antibiotic but a vaccine which when injected acts as antibiotic against antigen or foreign particle.im biotech student so i know it.
