...And why, 2000 years after His death, does He continue to exert such enormous influence on our world?
People are dying everyday, lots of people. Jesus was just another human being, was he not?
There are many others in this world who die for noble causes too, but I do not recall anyone worshipping them and getting into crusades, and large conflicts over it.
I hear people say 'he was the son of God'. Yes to some that seems true, but are we not all God's children? If there is such a thing as 'god'...
At the time of jesus, it was common for people to get crucified, and I mean is there any scientific evidence that PROVES he was resurrected? What makes you think he is coming back? I don't see how that is physically possible, do those little skin cells -living organisms!- do they go to heaven too when they die??
Not trying to offend anyone, but can I get some more information on this? I don't understand it.

Let me clarify ... Jesus (the God) gave up His royal throne to be born as a human being. Whatever powers he displayed on earth were based on His faith, not His deity. After being anointed by the Holy Spirit, Peter and Paul also performed some amazing miracles. Jesus suffered on the cross as a human. And He died as a human. That He knew He would be in heaven was all based on His faith. He did not see Himself as God returning to heaven. Since there is no reincarnation, there was no way for Jesus to know He was once God in the spiritual realm. As a human, He only knew what the Father revealed to Him. So yeah, Jesus on the cross is a big deal. That one sacrifice saved all of God's creation from eternal damnation. All ya gotta do is trust in Jesus.

You are absolutely right!
Jesus was a man, a human being, not a God or Son of a God. He was Prophet of The God and Son of Mary. He was resurrected (whatever the word means) and was taken to 4th level of The Heavens, where he is waiting to come back, close to the Doomsday for ...........
The big deal is that he attempted to correct the corruption in the religion of Moses caused by the Jews of that time. He was a rebel sent by The God to do this job (thus he was a Prophet). This job was not acceptable to the Romans or the Jews, hence the crucifixion.
He did not convert any body to Christianity by himself. He had 12 companions (the Saints) who believed him but the masses did not listen even though they had sympathies with whatever he was telling and preaching, thus calling him The Messiah and forgetting his name Jesus. After his crucifixion, it was Great Saint Paul who showed the people the path of Christ, thus converting them to Christianity, not Jesus-inity! There is a considerable time lapse between the emergence of Saint Paul and the event of resurrection.
He is one of the Greatest persons ever appeared on the face of the Earth because he brought in the Law of The God which is still true, so much true that even the Muslims believe in that law.

I know eh, Adam was more fantastic he has no mother? Peace to the prophets inshAllah amin. The Lord would never let anything happen to anyone that had the holy spirit. I beg to differ in this case, its in all formats when the guidance was there, nothing was on their mind but the guidance and that was the mission and that was the cause, so I don't really understand how you can have the holy spirit and then have harm done to you at the same time. So Daniel did get eaten by the lions too then, and Joseph stayed in the well and died? Its not even worth beginning to understand why Jesus would even have any harm done to him and he was to be and it was be that made him to be.

First of all the fact that the story lasted 2000 years says there is something special.
Second we know that the people who stole the body if there wasn't a ressurection went to a painful death claiming the ressurection was real. They gave up their homes, families and respect in the community to say that the ressurection was true. They would have been rewarded for changing their story, and were severly punished for clinging to it. Yet they still said the ressurection was true.
There is also contemporary accounts of people whose lives were changed from knowing Jesus. I know he changed mine.

Jesus is the chief cornerstone
Eph 2:20-21
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.

Research - go to Christianbook.com and research your questions to find answers. You won't find them here. Also, Christianity is NOT a religion. A religion is people working their way to God. Christianity is Jesus Christ coming to men and women through a deep personal relationship.

It's pretty simple; Christians believe Jesus was a god; most other people don't. They also believe that they are obligated to convert others to Christianity, and that pretty much pisses everybody else off thoroughly. It's caused a few wars, among other things.
