I live in southern California, I got a DUI and got my license suspended for 1 year, I'm currently 20 so by when I get my license back I'll be 21 and plan on applying to the LASD. But its better if I know right now so that I can change plans.

If you are asking if you can run for sheriff, the answer is yes, you just have to meet the age and residency requirements and get elected.

If you asking if you can be a deputy, yes anyone can get hired as a deputy.

Now..... if you want to be a cop, you might have to wait a few years and prove you can be resonsible then you might have a chance at getting hire.

yes but you have to wait seven years before you go to become a sheriff, plus if they hire you you have to work at county jail or the court house for at least five years before u can go and give people tickets and stuff. thats what i was told. on a side note i got one in chula vista when i was 19, i hope u got nice friends because getting rides to your classes SUCKS! later

Sure you can. The Sheriff is elected or appointed, and there are really no qualifications.
But you can't become a Deputy.
