She needs to get more vit c each day, so I was thinking since she has apple juice now diluted why not orange juice?

Does anyone have any suggestions for other sources of vit c or if this is not a good idea? Thanks in advance! :D

Probably fine. You'll notice if it doesn't agree with her.

You'll find high levels of vitamin C in red berries, kiwi, red and green bell peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, spinach, and juices made from guava, grapefruit, and orange. Some cereals and Juicy-Juice have added C.

I haven't given my 11 month old son orange juice yet. Simply because I'm really sensitive to it (gives me really bad stomach ache) and I'm wary in case he's the same as me or he's too young. I wasn't sure what sort of age was suitable to try orange juice. My mum offered him a beaker of diluted OJ the other day and I was lilke "NOOOO!" lol!!

You can get orange juice "drinks" which are less acidic than the actual juice (trouble is they are loaded with sugar . . .)

You could try freshly squeezed orange juice as in my opinion thats much less sharp and bitter than the concentrated, carton stuff. Dilute a little freshly squeezed OJ and see how she takes it.

sailinshoes is right about foods with lots of vit. c. My son loves Cauliflower and Broccoli cheese (Cauliflower and Broccoli in a cheese sauce)! You could also try her with sliced (peeled and deseeded) tomatoes as a finger food. Also some manufactured babyfoods and cereals have added Vit C.

I was told no oranges before age 1. Due to the fact that citrius fruits can be a high allergin, but 11 months is pretty close so it could go either way.

Foods that are rich in Vitamin C are broccoli, strawberries, citrus fruits, green peppers, brussels sprouts, honeydew, and cantaloupe.

many young babies are sensitive to orange juice and other citrus fruits due to their acidity, it is best to delay the introduction of these foods until they are 7 or 8 months old. However, by 12 months, your daughter is likely ready to try orange juice.

I would call up your pediatrician first and ask. If you get the go ahead, then I'd try low-acid OJ without any pulp as the acid of regular OJ may just irritate her little tummy. Good Luck!

orange juice should be fine for a 11 month old. they sell oj for babies, but there really is no difference.

My son LOVED OJ at this age. Just make sure you get the pulp-free so it doesn't clog up the bottle or sippy cup.
