Yes, humans are animals.

Those people, who don't believe that humans are animals, are egotistical and believe that they are special somehow.

Humans are definitely animals. Vertebrate, mammalian, primate animals in fact.

Even those 'unique' characters that are often claimed for humans are not that unique.

About the only one we really have that no other animal has is the ability to rotate our hand with each finger acting as the axis of rotation. This affords us higher manual dexterity than any other critter.

Other traits either aren't actually unique, or aren't really well defined or measurable (like "sentience").

Human beings are made in the image of God, animals aren't. Point blank, that is why there is a distinction. I think your focus is a bit misirected because you are right about the actions we are able to perform however what we can do is not what determines what we are. In other words, we aren't human beings because of what actions we can perform. All human beings can't do the same thing (i.e. paralyzed, short, fat, skinny etc). It's not what we can DO that makes us human but what we ARE or what we possess that makes us human and the only thing that we all possess is a soul and we bear the image of God. This same principle goes for the comparison with animals and humans.

yes, the prove is right there under our noses, I mean we are considered as mammals. The other proves than humans are considered animals cos they have these things in common.

-they have a digestive system, intestines, bowels, stomach, live
-they have lungs and a heart and external body parts
-they communicate using language
-they need food and fluids to survive

Yes of course we are. We're not plants are we? However, we are a pretty special animal. We are the only animal that creates. That to me is the spiritual bit.

It is an evolutionist concept not a Christian one. Christians believe that God created us with a soul and a body in His likeness. We are elevated above the animals and given a conscience to guide and direct our self.

Yes. We are primates. We ARE animals.

WE enjoy afflicting pain and misery for their own sakes. We readily enjoy killing each other, even our own family members. We commit horrible atrocities upon each other and other animals.

I realize that brings into question whether or not we are animals, but I think we can aspire to it, don't you?
