I think it is - God chose to love us , while we were still sinners- He did not have to do that, because He is Holy and He is God- When someone treats us terribly we have a choice to hate him or love him. We make choices everyday and to love is the greatest one.

Love, as an emotion, is not a choice.

Love, as a verb, as a way of believing and behaving, is a choice. In a marriage, you may not always feel the emotion, but you have the free will, as well as an obligation, to continue to love (the verb). This committed approach will allow you to hang on until the emotion resurfaces.

Sometimes it is.

For instance, if you are in relationship and you know you will never love that person, but are so desperate to have someone you might force yourself to love them just so you won't be alone.

But then there is that love you have with your newborn baby, you have no choice to love them because they are such a huge gift it's just comes natural.

So it just depends on the situation.

No. In my short time here I've found out enough to realize that I can love people I don't exactly like all the time. And others I've tried to force myself to love, but was unable to. It's possible to confuse one's self into thinking a false love is true, but true love cannot be turned on & off with such ease.

No, of course not. If love was a choice, people wouldn't love abusers.

Loving people is a choice. Sometimes you love people and cannot help the fact that you love them. Showing them your love is different though. You can love someone and choose not to show them that. You cna be mean to them and not show your love....which in my eyes is not true love.

Love is a choice. Lust is an instinct. The hard part is knowing the difference.
