I just downloaded the free trial of nero start smart and i can't figure out how to get my movies to burn from it, my movies are currently saved in my vlc media player so i can watch them and they are avi files. So how do i get the movies from vlc to nero in order to burn them?

Open Nero and click on the Help Tab to learn all about burning videos. Then, make sure the Trial version of Nero doesn't have this feature disabled.
Repeat for VLC, there may be more tips.
If Nero is disabled, try the free Deep Burner, for example. Google for it.
