You need to be the one to call the police, and not your boyfriends mother. She has no right to go and get your medication, just as your father has no right to keep your medication from you. You are an adult and you need to be the one to take responsibility for calling the police and having them escort you over to your home to retrieve your medication.

This is a situation spun out of control. Was your dad doing you a favor by picking up the prescription? Why would he do something nice for you, and do a complete 180 just because you couldn't find your cell phone?

I think there is a lot more to the story. You talk about being an adult and living with your boyfriend, but mature adults can work out their problems without calling the police. The more you escalate this problem, the harder it's going to be for you to be part of your family's life. And you're boyfriends mom is not helping you by alienating you from your family.

Sounds like you need to suck it up and apologize to your dad. Work it out before you ruin everything with your family.

You're a legal adult so Dad is no longer required to provide you with anything. I'm *assuming* (and I could be wrong, because you didn't say) that Dad--not you--paid for the inhaler. If so, he doesn’t have to give it to you (at least not until you reimburse him, and even then the police likely aren't going to get involved--you'd have to go to court). Pay for your own inhaler and pick it up yourself, since you apparently want to play at being an adult (by moving in with Boyfriend).

Now, regarding the cell phone--if it's in Dad's name, then it's his phone, and therefore, you are obligated to return it to him upon request.

OK, so you are 18 so OBVIOUSLY you can't trust your dad to pick up your prescriptions for you.

If you need your inhaler, and it could be a matter of life and death then you probably have the right to report this matter to the police, and have him charged with theft.

If he is holding a prescription that is written in your name, then it is a no-brainer for the cops.
The only person who has a right to have a prescription drug in their possession is the person who the prescription is written to.

It is against the law! With holding medication is neglect with malicious intent. I would advise your father that he is breaking the law. In the future, since you are 18, pick up your own prescriptions!

yes this is against the law even if he paid for it as u cant hijack someones meds u might need to pay him for it i would call the police and tell them he filled the script under false pretenses and refuses to give it to u and ask them to escort u out to his house to get it also call the pharmacy and tell them that no one is to pickup your meds but u and make sure they enter iit into their computer so everyone knows and if that phone is in his name make sure u give it back with a witness present so he cant hold it over your head

If you're 18, then you need to be the one to get it. Yeah, he has to give it to you; your parents can't withdraw anything (besides beer) from you once you're legally an adult
