I had an arguement with my husband and he told me that i need help and I have bi-polar. Now, thats not the first time someone has told me that. A couple of my ex boyfriends has said the same thing. I always thought they were just saying that to piss me off and just basically labeling all women like that, But since my husband is now calling me that I want to know if I might have some signs.

Good introspection on your point. Please check out the sites I attached. Also read a book that's at the library:

"The Unquiet Mind" by Kay Redfield Jameson

You may not have bi-polar disorder, and you won't necessarily know for sure unless you get diagnosed by a professional. What people say isn't always true, but if a number of people have said something similar and you suspect yourself of being bi-polar, you should definitely get checked for it. Taking medications for it may not be the best option depending on how bad it is. I have a friend that takes some of these medications and they experience unpleasant side effects. Try looking up "natural cures for bipolar" into a search engine, you might find some interesting articles out there about natural treatments. To sum the advice I have for you, get checked by a professional, keep an open mind on what options you have, and don't let what was said by others convince you that you have it unless you know for sure.

Hi.. you can get a world of information about this disorder by doing a Yahoo search for SYMPTOMS OF BIPOLAR DISORDER.

Your husband, nor boyfriends, can diagnose you. unless they are doctors... Bipolar disorder is a complicated illness, for which there are a lot of different signs and symptoms. Not every individual experiences the same symptoms, however.

Many other issues and illnesses can minic bipolar disorder... say you are very hyper and active sometimes... well that's nice, but it doesn't mean you're bipolar. Maybe you get depressed off and on... still, doesn't mean you are bipolar

If you are concerned, get the facts, then consult your doctor for more help and information.

take care.

Extreme emotional highs and lows. Bouts of uncontrollable or unreasonable spending. Irritable and argumentative. In a high, you have lots of energy ... can go for days. In a low, you don't want to get out of bed. Doctors can diagnose bi-polar and treat with meds.

People throw that word around a lot. Bipolar is more than being angry.
