No one knows, if indeed they existed in any way except in an allegorical sense.

There are various interpretations of the date of Biblical creation (it was a hobby of the Renaissance to try and guess the date of creation based on various interpretations of the Bible).
Most English-speaking cultures are stuck on the version given by James Ussher in 1654. This is the version that gives roughly 6000 years. It falls short of just about all the other interpretations that were made around the same time.
He (Ussher) places the first morning ("Let there be light") on 23 October 4004 BC. That would be the first day. If Adam and Eve got together on the sixth day, that would be 28 October 4004 BC. That would make the seventh day -- the "day of rest" -- 29 October 4004 BC. Therefore, Anglophones who really want to follow the Bible should rest only on October 29 instead of every Sunday.
In the Spanish tradition, the version by Maria de Agreda is preferred, placing the first days in 5199 BC.
In the Slavic traditions, the Biblical creation took place a bit before 5500 BC.
There are some other Eastern Christian traditions that go as far back as the seventh millenium (6000s) BC.

Depending on who you listen to, between 10000 BC and 4000 BC. I go with the 10000 BC.
