Many Christians often think that atheism is a religion and will blindly try to prove that it is. Atheist are individuals that don't have a belief in any gods, and that is the only thing that they have in common.

Edit:
Christians are atheists to every god but one, so technically they are closer to atheists than a pantheist, hindu, or any religion that accepts multiple gods...

What the others here have said, except atheists don't "believe in nothing." Of course we do. We are people, just like everyone else, with hopes and dreams, etc. We just don't believe in a god or gods.

Don't let anyone tell you we're lacking in morals/don't know right from wrong either; it just isn't true :)

It's not a religion, but a belief. Atheist means "no god". There is nothing else that it encompasses except the belief that there is no god. They can believe anything else that they want, however.
