yeah, i especially designed it (eating 3 eggs daily) to fit my training program. i try to stay away from protein shakes as possible because of its kidney implications.

Raw eggs contain Avidin. Avidin binds to biotin (a b-vitamin) which prevents the vitamin's absorption. This can cause a biotin deficiency. Cooking of eggs destroys the Avidin.

Lots of medical research shows that eggs are good for you and actually contain many vital ingredients for optimum heart health. However, like anything, too much of a good thing can be bad. Three eggs everyday may be too much of a good thing. Three eggs every 2-3 days is fine (avoid raw eggs because of the Avidin issue and the risk of salmonella poisoning).

Best wishes.

Raw eggs aren't a big worry for poisoning since eggs these days are unfertilized so the chances of you contracting salmonella are slim to none. As for having three a day, this is what Men's Health Nov 07' had to say about eating eggs: "When 152 overweight adults ate a two egg breakfast daily for 2 months they lost 65 percent more weight than did a control group who consumed a breakfast equal in calories but lower in protein. Two eggs contain 12 grams of protein, and according to study author Nikhil Dhurandhar Ph.D. that's enough to increase satiety by up to 50 percent and subsequently lighten your lunch intake by about 164 calories."

It isn't recommended. One a day is the current recommended max.

Here's some info I found online:
http://www.enc-online.org/health_issues/eggnutr.htm

As you can see, *1* egg has 212 mg of cholesterol. For healthy hearts, recommendations are under 300 mg per day. If you are eating 3 eggs per day, you are consuming 636 mg, over twice the recommended amount. And that's not going to count any other animal foods you might consume in a day.

They also recommend no more than 4.5 g of saturated fat, which comes in all kinds of things. Your 3 eggs alone surpass that. You would have to eat nothing but whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables the rest of the day (with no additives whatsoever) to not go significantly over that limit.

What you are doing is truly setting yourself up for heart problems.

The only problem with raw eggs is that you have a greater chance of being infected with Salmonella (causes food poisoning).

It's so funny, cause just today I was telling some friends about my raw egg eating habits - I stopped one day, when I mistakingly swallowed a raw one! yuuccchhh, I know.. . haha...
But yep it's not a good idea to eat the egg raw, because of salmonella poisoning, and the heart problems could occur from high cholesterol content in the egg yolk [but if you're young then it's not such a huge risk].

Raw eggs can contain salmonella, something like one in ten thousand are infected. Heart disease? Well, eggs contain a lot of cholesterol per weight, but the jury is still out on whether high dietary cholesterol is as bad as once thought.

Eggs are pretty high in cholesterol, especially the yolk.
I usually suggest no more than 2 eggs a day.

Eggs are OK these days , the health organisations have come up with the fact that the cholesterol in eggs is a good cholesterol so now it is healthy, apparently.

Years ago you could eat all the raw eggs you wanted . But now with all the stuff they do with the poor chickens, I wouldn't.
And you should eat only one egg yoke and three egg whites, Much healthier...

Eggs have an awful LOT of Cholesterol...-& 3 a day sounds a bit MUCH (ESPECIALLY raw... :( ...) Obviously you must LIKE them...- but you might want to consider varying your diet alittle... Too much of ANYTHING- will kill you, sooner or later...! And unless you're 89 going on 90- you're probably STILL alittle TOO young to die... :0
