But none of you were around when the universe was created, so could you possibly know? Carbon dating has been proven inaccurate, like I read they said this living tree was 14 Billion years old or something. The Bible says 6,000 ,a dn the Bible is always right - it even says in the Bible that the Bible is always right, so that makes it DOUBLE always right.

What's yellowstone?

2007-11-09 15:05:51 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 6

Which one of you was around when YellowStone rupted first?

No one. So how do you know when it erupted? You do not. You beleive what someone said in a book, based on thier theory. The carbon datingmethod is of no use beyond 30,000 years. You have to assume that thier was never more carbon in the enviroment or less during any time period, bith which are wrong, you have to assume the rate of deteriation has always been steady, etc. This also goes for other so called dating methods. You can read this articel for insight http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs2002/carbon_dating.asp

P.S. For Christians it should be an open and shut case. Jesus took Genisis seriously so should you.

According to the Jewish calender, it is 5,768 years since creation. There is a known error in the calender of a hundred and some years, so it's a little more.

However, Jews do not consider this to be the beginning of everything. In fact, in Jeremiah 4, it indicates there was a previous cycle of humanity that led to the point the Torah started.

The word "beresheis" does not mean "In the beginning." It has many meanings, but this is not one of them. The most parallel of the many meanings of the word is at the head. This doesn't imply an absolute beginning.

So yes, it's quite possible that Yellowstone erupted 60,000 years ago and there were dinosaurs millions of years ago. And even that there would be older recorded civilizations.

Biblicly the world is older than 6000 years old. I know it may seem confusing now but I'll explain:

God created The heavens and everything in them and etc.... and on the "7th Day" he created man. In the Bible a day is as a thousand years to the Lord.... Thousand was the biggest numerical number back in the day so that's what they wrote.....

Correctly the verse should read A day is as Millions of years to the Lord. We were created but longer than the Bible may make it look like.... The Bible is however right in its explanation, although off a bit... Do you understand that they didn't have the understanding of higher numerical values back then..... I've wondered as well but now i know!!! Peace out Bro.

Well obviously the bible is wrong...everyone who thinks the bible is the truth is living in the wrong time period. It's like saying the world is flat because that's what they believed in the past. The bible was WRITTEN BY MEN NOT GOD...and since GOD did not write it by his own hand how can you believe that it's not wrong. Belief in GOD and belief in the Bible are two different subjects. Now the bible might have been written by "divine inspiration" but that is still regulated by man. And the bible wasn't even written by one man...so that makes it even more prone to getting the facts wrong. If you want to test that theory then try playing telephone for about 100 generations and see what the original message sounds like in the end.

600,000 is based on Hugh Ross's theory and 6000 is based on the bible !!! The flood of Noah carried with it much destruction !!! When you mix overpowering fire and water together you have horrific explosion thus the Grand Canyon was created !!! My idea and I am not an expert !!!
Just listen to all that heavy knocking when the hot water radiator is driving you crazy in the winter time !!!

Nobody with a normal mental capacity and an IQ above "idiot" would believe such nonsense as that 6000 year figure.

I truly believe that the "pastors" and "preachers" who preach this BS do so because of the power they feel. Mobs of screaming, drooling, ignorant people tossing money in the basket; it's just too much to resist.

I'm sure there is only a small minority of people who follow such an idea....but, they are so ridiculous that they get a lot of media coverage. Hence, they make the "news"...

20 years ago or less, nobody would even hear from this bunch of dregs.

Even the church is of an analogous opinion with maximum of it? If it does then why think of it particularly is needed to enlighten Christians right here? I even have considered documentaries the place new lava added approximately land in an extremely short volume of time- no greater effective than a decade- 2 or 3 on the main. The volcanoes could be yet another tale fullyyt. it particularly is an assumption that they had be in the tens of millions of years previous nonetheless. utilising dating structures in diverse places on that volcano and get as many diverse results of it particularly is age. The length of the gap of stars is predicated on the incorrect form of length to declare that they are billions of years previous. It suits in with evolution, yet purposely brushing off the greater precise form of length by way of fact it suits with creation. an analogous argument in regard to carbon dating. I even have continuously stated to human beings such as you that the 6000 form is in regard to the size of human existence as recorded in the Bible. that may no longer the form to apply with regard to the age of the universe.

the earth is over 6,000 years old but man kind is only about 6,000 when the bible refers to world it means the population not the planet. the planet has to be older then man kind in order for there to have already have been fossil fuel by the time Adam was created or "another way to word it for those non bible believers the caveman to appear"

This planet is so old, it's older than dirt. Boo. Bad joke. According to some ancient findings earth was once in orbit between Mars and Jupiter. It was known as Tiamat. Our sun's twin danced in and one of it's satellites or planetoids hit Tiamat so hard the planet was ripped in half. One half is the Hammered Bracelet, or we call it the Asteroid Belt. The other half is what we now call earth. The scar is in the Pacific Ocean, the Ring of Fire. Her orbit was moved closer to the sun. If this had happened 6000 years ago the planet would still not be habitable. My info comes from Sumer writings and the bible is plagiarized from the same writings.

It's funny to me that people who rant and rave about how we always quote scripture to support our views seem to forget that the whole 6000 year thing IS NOT in the Bible. No one can quote the Bible as saying how old the earth is.

And btw, exactly how old IS the earth? I notice a lot of different answers on just this question alone.
