peace has occured in human history, just not the human history you know about, because the only history you're told is one that goes back to only 10,000 years ago. and the human race was here for millions of years before that, living peacefully, although everyone seems to pretend like nothing ever existed before 10,000 years ago. it's odd how no one wonders how humans lived successfully through evolution. obviously back then, we were doing something right.
i'm saving you lots of trouble: the answer is tribalism. there was not one massive culture like today (which is civilization: religion, economy, politics, hierarchy, and a locked up food surplus that forces you to make money to survive, which makes you wonder how people agreed to civilization in the first place). there were countless numbers of cultures, so everyone lived in peace in their own separate cultures and worked happily for the survival of their small community. when you think about it, it makes a lot of sense in the biological sense, considering what systems have proven to be successful in the process of evolution (pack: wolf, tribe: human). sure tribes fought with each other, but never on such a massive and official scale. fighting is inevitable, and on a small scale, it doesn't threaten overall peace like it does today. they definitely didn't come close to destroying the earth. that's how they continued to evolve into homo sapiens sapiens.
it's this one massive culture, civilization, that is ruining our planet and thus everything we've got. if only we could all abandon it. unfortunately we've been ignorant this whole time, and it could very well be impossible to undo, because this culture is shockingly overpopulated and now we basically have to change the beliefs of 6 billion people.

Peace has occurred in individuals and small groups. Gandhi is an example of a peaceful individual. Monks who live in sanctuaries, separated from the rest of the world where they are persecuted are an example of a small peaceful group.
What has not occurred is Peace among all men/women and nations. That will not occur as long as righteousness is in the hearts and minds of men and women. There are other factors such as greed and lust for power but righteousness is the element that is present in the forefront of my mind as being the larger cause of a lack of peace.

Between Israel-P.L.O.and Arabs ,It will be of a short Duration 3 and 1/2Yrs later it falls apart;
Why ? Bible Prophecy says so;There is no Peace when the Prince of Peace is left out; Jesus will have to intervene at end Of Seven Yrs; To keep Man from Inalation;

War is always an economic event. World socialism is the key to a peaceful existence.
". . . nowhere have we really overcome what Thorstein Veblen called "the predatory phase" of human development. . . . the real purpose of socialism is precisely to overcome and advance beyond the predatory phase of human development." -- Albert Einstein from his essay Why Socialism. "peaceful human interaction" does occur between individuals. Its only when there are entire countries that are involved that wars take place.

I don't think it will. Human kind has too many facets and different beliefs with not enough understanding of one another to ever become totally peaceful.

Peace will never happen. It has never happened. Humans are much to firm in their own convictions.

There will be everlasting peace when Christ returns. Satan will be defeated & there will be peace for 1000 years until the earth is destroyed & Heaven rules all. Read Revelations, it is very reassuring.
