All that has been replaced, needed to be replaced due to deformed parts, or in-operable. The ECU said that they were faulty. None of the parts were just replaced just because we decided to change them. The other reason not to take it to a shop they all will rape you in labor. We do have a Chilton's Manual. It covers all other types of nissan sedans not just the stanza, so we are looking for more info about the about this vehicle. We been looking everywhere and now we are trying here. Who has money to just blow it on parts cuz they just want to change them? WE DON"T!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, don't insult us by asking stupid questions like do you have a manual, or tell us we need to take it to a shop.

Here's another Question for ya all :

What is the difference between crank angle sensor and a crankshaft position sensor?

With all the money you've wasted on parts which didn't fix the problem, you could have paid a mechanic to analyze the problem and would have had the car running by now.

1991 Stanza! On Stanza's always check the timing chain! Chain jump even catches the most seasoned Nissan Technician. I am sure the parts you replaced looked old worn out and the car sputtered to a stop just like it ran out of fuel. Just be careful old cars can become an nightmare as other parts break or fail while your working on it. Also some 1997 and up Altima cars will wear down the intermedate sprocket and jump timing.

NEVER replace any part till you know the problem. What tests have you run ? Do you have fuel pressure, do the injectors supply fuel at proper time, do you have spark, is the timing correct. do you have a timing belt (might be broken) What were the conditions when it quit running. Do some diagnostics and see what you can find.

Find your fuse panel and check your fuses to see if one is blown.
I think the one you need to focus on will be labeled "ECM"

or "ENG"

Good luck

for future reference if you don't already have one go get an automotive repair manual from Autozone or O'reilly's. They are made by companies called Chilton and Haynes and are an excellent investment.

next steps are to check timing belt or chain for having jumped and the ignition module. it gets expensive to repair these things so i'd suggest having a garage check it out as it would likely be cheaper than to keep bolting parts on and getting nowhere.

try replacing your spark plugs & fuel injectors if you don't want to take it to a mechanic
