There is a scriptural answer, can anyone find it? I would assume that the Gate Keeper of Hell would be the Ruler of Hell right?

One may hold the Key but God set all the powers that be.

The ascended Jesus (Revelation 1:18), although 'hell' in this instance is the Greek word for 'the grave'.

As to the ruler OF Hell, the place of eternal punishment, that would be God, since He created it and He rules everywhere. After Armageddon, Christ will be established as the ruler of all creation (which is sort of the same thing). Satan only spoke of ruling in hell in a poem by Milton. He knows better than anyone that there are no rulers IN Hell.

Psalm 135:6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. Hell is a deep place, a bottomless pit, and God governs all deep places. I rejoice in knowing the one who has the keys of hell and death.

Rev 1:10 I am the living one; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

Jesus gave those keys to the Blessed Virgin, and she, in turn, gave them to St Michael.

Pope someone or other had a vision about it.

Rev 1:18 I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Actually, you are wrong. The gatekeeper of Hell is essentially the warden of the prison. Hell is for the inmates.

THE GATES OF HELL OR THE GATES OF THE GRAVE

Matt.16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ,
the Son of the living God. 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto
him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not
revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 16:18 And
I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will
build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven:
and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven:
and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Isa.38:10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the
gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt
thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 2:28 Thou hast made
known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with
thy countenance. 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto
you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his
sepulchre is with us unto this day. 2:30 Therefore being a prophet,
and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit
of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit
on his throne; 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection
of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did
see corruption. 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all
are witnesses. 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted,
and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost,
he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 2:34 For David is
not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said
unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 2:35 Until I make thy foes
thy footstool.
