Someone asks if atheists could prove God doesn't exist. Assuming they mean the Christian God, can someone give me an example of what would (hypothetically) count as evidence for non-existence?

There is no solid proof that God doesn't exist. It's impossible to come up with that kind of proof, just like it's impossible to prove that he does exist. And even if someone found what they thought to be "solid proof", the other side would still argue that it's not good enough.

Alot of non-Christians ask us to prove that he does exist as well. As Christians, we don't need proof. We have all the proof we need, obviously, or we wouldn't be part of the religion that we are a part of. And as non-Christians, they have all the proof they need. Both of us know that we are the side that is right, yet there will always be argueing and people demanding proof.

There's the 'You can't prove a negative' argument but evilbible.com said it was possible and had some contradiction and equating it to a square not having round edges. I can't believe I don't remember it right now. But, on the other hand, there's no evidence for unicorns so people say they don't exist. Common sense tells me the Christian version of God can't exist, even if the evilbible.com argument doesn't work.

Ask them to give an example of what would count as evidence for non-existence of Thor, Wotan, Kali, Eris, Bob Dobbs, Bertrand Russell's china teapot, the Invisible Pink Unicorn, Neptune, Poseidon, Extra-terrestrial life, or the Flying Spaghetti monster (or anything else you can think of).

In order to prove that God doesn't exist, you having been everywhere in the universe there is to go – and having witnessed everything there is to be seen.

by utilising your question you have opened a elementary question that one and all adult ladies and men might desire to respond to, do i've got self assurance in God? nicely do i? and why do i if i do? i've got self assurance that that the air is made from 21% oxygen. no count number in case you have self assurance that or no longer does not replace that fact that that's authentic. i've got self assurance that if i do no longer eat a conventional rhythmic furnish of oxygen i visit give up to exist. no count number in case you have self assurance that or no longer does not replace the fact that that's authentic. this tells me that existence has absolutes. do you have self assurance in ideal or incorrect? why and what does it is counted if i do or no longer. society is how we are residing, we've a particularly healthful society by utilising the worlds standards in different international places.that society is made from policies and those policies are there for our risk-free practices, and a few of those first policies got here from the founding fathers who believed in God and consider the bible. we do unlike that previous e book to any extent further, too undesirable that's extra suitable than those solutions and clever than my reaction. i've got self assurance in God who offered His Son as a bloody sacrifice so as that i will have a relationship with Him, you spot it became my sin it rather is the situation and God is the respond and has the solutions to all our elementary questions. it would desire to be a great theory to envision the bible and learn of its teachings as a replace of criticizing it out of our lack of information

You can't prove a UNIVERSAL negative.

OTOH, human-invented gods are generally so self-contadictory that they cannot exist. For example, if a god is claimed to be omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, and good, then it cannot exist - because, using the Christian god as an example, any god that would knowingly create the being that became Satan can be nothing but evil itself. If it is claimed he didn't know; he's not omniscient; claimed he couldn't stop it, he's not omnipotent, and if he didn't stop it, he's evil.

Say "God, I'm going to drop a peice of chalk on the ground. If you exist, don't let it shatter"
It will shatter, therefore Ta-Da! I believe in a God just not one that gives a s*** about what WE think.

thiere can be no direct proof of a negative but plenty of indirect evidence is available . Take your hands of the wheel on the highway and see if god saves your life . i'll send flowers to your funeral . Or for those who emulate their savior in Christ Bury yourself and raise from the dead . common sense dictates supernatural thinking is fallacious .

Just use the same evidence as used for the non-existence of Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy and The Easter Bunny. It applies as well to gods.
