That means you are already an atheist. You don't need to change. Just get a good education and you can live the rest of your life as you see fit. Good luck, friend.

you just do, of course there are some drawbacks of "coming out" especially if most of your friends and family are religious, it can get tough. Some of your teachers might come down hard on you as well. At first everyone will give you a hard time and try to re-convert you and tell you all about how much Jesus did to pay for your sins (good ol' guilt trip, it's the only line the christians know) I tell them "alright! then I'm gonna get my money's worth" of course that always goes over well, teachers will probably try to pressure you into "doing the right thing" I mean your "eternal soul is at stake here". but you have to make your choices for yourself and what feels right for you, and question everything. They will probably try to snow you with "facts" but check them out and see if what they say is true. Anytime you swim up river it is hard, and if you choose to go against the "norm" in this school, it will be hard for you. Talk to your parents perhaps you can switch schools, but then if yours are like mine they'll "never give up on you". Good luck.

My guess is that you have no choice about your school, as it may well be your parents' choice for you.
However, all the evidence suggests that you are already an atheist (Welcome!) and it might be best to wait until school days are over. Do what others are doing and pretend, just so as not to rock any boats.
Once you reach a certain age, then you can stand up and be counted without fear of reprisal from school authorities or parents.
Have patience. All will be fine.
NOTE: Atheism is NOT a religion.

Atheism isn't a religion it is something you are and if you love anyone or anything...that is God. God is love. Everyone has a longing for God deep down, its built into us. Some of us just have to take different paths to find Him. I know I can't change you mind but when you think about it, there has to be something out there that helps us through hard times and loves us unconditionally. I would rather believe my whole life and find out that there was nothing than not believe and figure out there was something. It sounds like you have already made up your mind, but God loves you and He is real, so please give it another try and see what He does in your life. God just wants to talk to his children, it doesn't even have to be a fancy prayer just talk to Him. What could talking to Him hurt?

A real Atheist will never be disappointed at God or curse God because He don't believe He exists. Nor will he think of praying when in danger.

A certain Christian man was leaving a gas station and convenient store one day when he felt God was telling him to go back in and stand on his head! He told God this is ridiculous, and wondered if God was really telling him to do this. He left the store, but the impression kept hitting him he should turn around and go back and stand on his head in the gas station store. Finally he decided to go back and stand on his head, saying to himself "no body knows me here anyway, and if this is of God I did His will and great, and if not what did it matter". So he went back and stood on his head in front of the doors and the cashier. When he got up the cashier was weeping and told him that now she knows there is a God and she wants to be saved. She said she had been in a deep depression, and just that morning had said that if there is a God she wanted someone to come in here and stand on their head, and said otherwise she had planed to commit suicide that night. Wow he was glad he went back and stood on his head!

Why go to that school? I'd switch to a purely secular one until you figure out what you think.

Edit:
I went to a fundamentalist christian school for my last 2 years before college. While there were some good things about it, the viewpoint was very narrow and in many ways was not a good preparationfor further education. The important things to learn are objective thinking and a willingness to research what ever you learn - never take what you hear as truth until you confirm it from several objective sources.

Changing religion? I thought you said you were Atheist. No change necessary. Just go to chapel, bow your head and do equations. Get your education and get out. If your parents give you a hard time, you could flunk out - I don't recommend it. You can still play the game, like Survivor. Lie, nod and pretend.

Last friend that I had that was athiest spend a little time in federal prison for counterfiting money while he was in college at East Carolina. He had plenty of money, his school was paid for by his dad the rich doctor. Thought he was so smart he didn't need to have any faith in anything. Not very smart was he?

If you don't believe in God, you've already changed. If you don't believe in God, you ARE an atheist. You don't have to convert; it's already happened.

What changes after this is simply behavior. If you are going to church and don't believe, why are you going to church? If it's required in your school, why are you still there? Can you ask to be excused from the services?
