What can I possibly do to get through to my 4 and 3 year old daughter who keep playing "kissing" games with each other. I know the girls have seen me and their dad kissing at times and they are so curious asking us why we do that. We've explained to them that its cause we are big and love each other very much. I've caught my older daughter on top of lil one on a few occasions now, kissing her on the mouth and it really makes me want to lose it on them! Ive tried nicely explaing its not good and it's very wrong, punishing them, and I even tried the yelling approach and smaking daughter on hand but nothing works. They know its wrongful behavior cause they've even locked their door when playing mommy and daddy! Is it normal for such young children to be so curious in this kind of manner?

No don't punish them as it would only make things worse. There is something called cognitive development meaning their minds have not matured like your and although they are imititaing you, they do not perceive sexuality like adults.....

Ugh! I would (and have) totally felt the same way! I don't care if it's the kids grandmother or not, why the hell would they need to kiss the baby on the lips at all??? That's not love, that's WEIRD!!! My mom did that until I put a stop to it! As far as the smokey breath.....it's just nasty. You wouldn't want a smokey person kissing you, why would it be any different for the baby? Only difference is, she can't speak for herself. Mother in laws can be really pushy. PUSH BACK! LOL! Best of luck hunnie!

Its very normal for children to be curious. They see mommy and daddy doing it. Its hard to punish them for something they see you do. You are gonna have to find a way to tell them its only for mommy and daddy. I do know that my mom caught my brother and his cousin when they were about 5 kissing behind the couch. Then my mom caught my other 2 little girl cousins with their hands down each others pants. I would think kids are gonna experiment until they learn it is wrong.

I think it's pretty normal for them to be curious about what you are doing at this age. As long as it doesn't get out of hand (ie. spreading to other parts of the body), I just don't think it's all that bad for two sisters to be playing this way together.

It would worry me more baout "punishing" them it as it may make them feel that showing affection is wrong, therefore no longer wanting to kiss mom and dad before bed or grandma when they go to visit.

Bring it up to your doctor next time you go in but I really think you need to ignore it. Often, that's the best way to deal with undesirable actions with children. Once they see they're no longer getting a "rise" out of you, they stop because it's no longer fun.

I am not a parent yet so take my opinion however you want. I think it's normal to do what they are doing and bringing attention to it might make it more fun. I don't think punishing will stop there curiosity. I don't have a solution for you, sorry. My first instinct is to leave it alone so it might lose it's mystery and they will stop on there own. You have already had a talk about when it's appropriate and with who it's appropriate to show that kind of affection and you might try skipping the punishment and asking them if they remember what you talked about.

They will grow out of it, it is not bad they are just children and children are curious. I dont know but maybe scaring them and being like passive about it like " U know the what the kissing monster does to little kids who kiss.... and leave it off at that...

For thumb sucking they used to put pepper on kids thumbs, maybe that would do the trick. Kids are kids. They sound real cute. If it bothers you that much see a shrink or try a pinch of pepper, I guess. If that doesn't work then I suggest you buy miniature linebacker football helmets with the big face mask protectors. Take care.

They are just mimicking what they see. Monitor their tv time more closely and reiterate that what they are doing is for adults, not children.

This sounds(and believe me please prove me wrong) like your daughter may have been sexually abused. It may be wise to take your child to a professional to rule this out. Your daughter might be crying out for help. Sexually abused children really have a hard time talking to their parents about this. Please get help for her.

They're sister? I'm sorry, but that's just wrong. On top of each other?! Wow, um...........tell them that you'll give them candy or something so they'll stop because kids are insane for candy.
