i have been in the Army for nine years, if i decide to become a commiswioned officer, what would be my starting rank?

You should be able to go straight to Captain, But If you really want to know for sure call a recruiter. Its their job to answer those questions

Either a 2nd or 1st lt.

Active duty members, who attend the Army PA program at Fort Sam Houston are 2nd Lt.s during training, then after they graduate, and are awarded Master Degrees by University of Nebraska Medical Center.

They are commissioned as 1st Lt.'s

So more than likely, a civilian PA, would be commissioned as a 1st Lt.

Would not the next rank up be 2nd lieutenant ? That I believe is the lowest commissioned rank.

if you are a college grad,you will be a 2nd lt.
