You are going to have to talk to someone at the Embassy to get a real answer.

While active in 75 we had a Spec 5, with 5 years in, that was dual American/French. The French came looking for him. He had to go to France with a JAG to get it resolved. I think they had a warrant out for his arrest thru Interpol, not sure how he found out. He did get it fixed though.

Latter in life a guy I know went to Nigeria to visit his mother and was promptly put into the Army there. He came back 2 years later with some very interesting stories.

Good Luck

If you live for a continuous 18 month period in the State of Israel you can be called up to serve in the Israeli Military.

And you can be placed in the Reserves till 48 years of age.

you won't be able to till you're Jewish by using beginning or a convert. it is so hassle-free as that. The programmes listed in different solutions only be conscious to non-Israeli Jews. in case you opt to be a Medic, connect the Royal military scientific Corps, then after 3 years volunteer with an NGO while you're that committed.

I had a American-Israeli friend who fought in Vietnam and the six-day war. I think military service is mandatory for all able bodied Israeli's, most of it being reserve training. I'll be watching for answers to this question!
