Jefferson was also a slave-owner. Let's all follow his example.

Biochemistry is directly related to religion AND evolutionary science.

I have a PH.D in Music, doesn't mean I'm qualified to perform open-heart surgery.

The theists I talk to do not believe what science discovers if that discovery goes against what the bible says.

[edit] Agnosticism
The word "agnostic" was coined by T. H. Huxley, "Darwin's Bulldog," around 1869. Since then, the word has been used in a variety of ways, as follows.

In one sense of the word, agnosticism is the position that it is not possible to know whether gods exist. Agnosticism in this sense is an epistemological position about the limits of possible knowledge. It holds that it is not possible to determine whether gods exist. Specifically, it holds that the question of the existence of gods is beyond the scope of science — that it is a question that cannot be answered by science. This position is epistemological agnosticism or strong agnosticism.[15]

In another, more popular sense, of the word, agnosticism is a personal position. When a person describes himself as an agnostic he usually means one of the following:

he takes no position, pro or con, on the existence of gods.
he has considered the question of the existence of gods, and has not yet been able to decide whether he believes in the existence of gods or not.
he suspends judgment due to lack of evidence one way or another.

Atheism, as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods[1] or rejects theism.[2] When defined more broadly, atheism is the absence of belief in deities,[3] alternatively called nontheism.[4] Although atheism is often equated with irreligion, some religious philosophies, such as secular theology and some varieties of Theravada Buddhism, also lack belief in a personal god.

atheists..... a label that religions imposed on regular humans that practice no religion and serve no god.... not all persons who are atheist know science.... we all have an interest in social issues... you could be an atheist and not beleive in either point of view... I see a trend in the christians first they label then they narrow the scope of what these people beleive.. like when they talk about evolution.. they talk about origins of the universe... they do that to confuse the non scientific public... because evolution is proven in much smaller cycles... like insects and plant life can prove evolution to an absolute certaintly... they also forget that the religions were against proclaiming the world round, and the laws of gravity.... it's unfair practice... cause theist and atheist are now both being hearded into taking about things neither know about... but theists are practiced bullies when debating issues they don';t understand.. look at how determined they thump the bible, and they don't have one incling about it's origins... only theories.. but that has yet to stop them....

For the record - Jefferson WAS NOT A THEIST. He was a deist. Major difference. How can we trust people who proclaim faith and knowledge and not even know the simplest truth!

I'll get back to you on this. My brother-in-law holds a Ph.D in Biochemistry and is a very devout believer in God. He just doesn't prostitute himself for research grant money like alot of scientists do.
