I can see God and Satan both play a role in my life, but do angels play a role in this world ? If not, why did God creat them in the first place?

For His good pleasure. Angels are ministering spirits and are for God's purpose only. They were created to glorify God and His Christ. (Col. 1:16)
People use Matt 18:10 to show that we have guardian angels but that is not what it means. "Little ones" refers to believers and "their angels" refer to angels as being ministering to believers per God's instructions. It is not an all time, one-on-one guardianship like some people think.

Angels are all around, some in the form of other people. If you can see God like you say you do, it shouldn't be hard to recall a time in your life where an angel was with you. They don't get a whole lot of credit because they work swiftly and quietly. They are unsung heroes, they don't get the propers they deserve. They are selfless, and know that they will not always be recognised. That is part of their job, to be indiscernible. They may be here to help us to appreciate one another and not be so unkind, because we always think that someone is responsible for even the good things that come as a surprise to us. It is them.

I'm not religious but from what I used to hear, angels may not act specifically in your life but more generally.
In some interpretations, angels are not really separate from god - but manifestations of aspects of god so that humans can understand Him in a smaller scale.

Here's what I say about my Grandfather who died a year and a half ago.
When someone you love passes away, they didn't leave you. They're okay. They are safe and not in pain now. Living in the beautiful sky in a castle made of golden sunflowers. They have long silky wings they use to fly through the clouds like a magic carpet. And they're always watching over you.
They're your ever-loving angels.
That's the role they play for me. ^_^

You know that Matthew 18:10 tells us that
our Angels face does always behold the face of God.
That rocks my world. How my Father loves me. To create an Angel just to watch over me.
Never seek the angel , but the one who created your angel. Your angel is only doing its job.<><

Neither God nor Satan play a role in your life. Satan is a Christian creation and God has better things to do than sit around and arbitrarily grant wishes to the sinful, unworthy humans.
Angels, they sit around God's throne and play harps and sing praise. keep drinking the Koolade and you can be just like them.

I think it is funny the lady who played in "touched by an angel" also played a mother witch in "charmed ." If there really was a supernatural in this natural world I guess one would need special supernatural eyes like yours to see it ,huh?
