Which one is the bigger epidemic really? Teenagers having unwanted pregnancys or adults having unwanted pregnancys?

I kind of feel that adult unwanted pregnancy maybe a bigger problems then teenagers pregnancy. I think that grown people probably end up with more issue then teenagers do. DNA testing, alimony ect. I think that teenage pregnancy is more publized. Just because you're a "grown adult" doesn't mean you're any better off.

Thoughts?

Any unwanted pregnancy is a tragedy isn't it.The infant is the only unwilling person in this equation.I believe every child has a right to be loved and wanted. We can only ask ourselves why unplanned pregnancies still happen in this day and age, regardless of the age of the participants. For the record teen pregnancies happened in the past. The girl was shipped off to a home for unwed mothers or to a distant family member to hide her "shame".These girls were forced in many cases to give their child up for adoption. The girl also became known as being easy .It was not a better timebut a very cruel way of handling a situation. It was also a time when the boy could avoid responsibility for the pregnancy by geting his friends to say they had sex with the girl too. There was no D.N.A. to disprove the claim.A time of double standards. As for adults there is still accountability for their actions. No child should be called a mistake,I dispise the term.

Lots of people have unwanted pregnancies or pregnancies for the wrong reason, regardless of age. I guess the difference is that people feel that adults will go ahead and be responsible for the baby, even if it was unplanned, whereas the teenagers are probably going to give that responsibility to their own parents or have to drop out of school. That's why the teenage pregnancy is a bigger deal.

I think that in a way you are right, but teens are not physically or mentally ready for a baby. I think if you don't want a baby, birth control should be the first thing on your mind. How hard is it to take a pill. It is a lot easier than taking care of another human being for the next 20 years. Maybe they can't afford birth control, but we do have free clinics and they do give them birth control. Another thing, birth control is a lot cheaper than a child or five children. I have a nearly 3 year old daughter and she is a lot of work, and she costs a lot, but she was also planned. I am 30 years old and I waited until I was ready to have a baby. Until then I took birth control pills.

Teenage pregnancy is worst
Most teenagers are in school (High, some maybe college some maybe middle)
Most teenagers live with their parents, they do not support themselves.
Most teenagers are under 18, and have no legal rights
Most teenagers can not support a child on it's own

Most adults, not all
Live on there own, support themselves and are out of school
The are of legal age,

I think, teenager or adult, you should not be sleeping around with people you are not able to raise a family with

I think Teenage pregnancy is worst, not because they do not know who fathers are, because they are not able to support the child. They are not out of their parents house

I always think someone that is out of high school, and their parents house, is worst epidemic

It's a fact that 1 out of 4 women (teen or adult) will have an unwanted pregnancy if using a method less than 95% affective. (and condoms aren't 95% effective)

I think teens need to have better sex ed. in school. There are more ways to teach sex ed other than telling them about condoms and abstonance. They need to know about abortion, adoption, and all controceptive methods. They need to hear other teen parents tell about their lives.

I think high schools need to teach child care classes along with sex ed. They need to know the finance issues that are involved with raising a kid as well as time and energy. Most teens don't fully understnad the value of a dollar or the financial responsibilities of even living on their own, let alone those of raising a child.

personally....I think anyone wantng a child need to pass a parenting and financial test prior to conception. I know this will never happen, but in my own ideal world..... you need to pass an IQ and competancy test to breed. there are too many stupid people having kids.

Children were better cared for and grew up more happily in the days before advanced contraception and technology.

There was not so much adulation of sexual behaviour in teens,
families stuck together, there were never so many STD's and people took responsibility for their actions.

Sorry but I would like to advocate a return to the past or at least see a more morally upright society in which people can be safe.

I believe it uses up our tax money on welfare either way.

In today's world, anyone who has sex without a condom is not thinking clearly at all.
