with no effect, but as soon as it is published in the pages of the Watchtower the JW believes it?

I have told many times over. I do not hate them.

Angel of death: JWs have done nothing to me because I would not allow it. They claim to be Christians, but they do not worship Jesus who is God of Abraham. What I am doing here, I am questioning their doctrines and beliefs. If you mom is a JW, I think you should learn something from these questions and answers.

Achtung..: Well, you might not call it arguing, but maybe it is fair to say that you have claimed to be right on the subject...and then the new light comes along and you are right again.

Good question, Nina!

Sasi gave you an excellent answer.

I would like to add that for the past several years I've been talking to my jw mom about how I have been reading the Bible from cover-to-cover each year and highly recommend it. Mom told me that the jws read it from cover-to-cover every 3 years.

At the end of 2004 I sent Mom a Daily Walk Bible and told her that if she would read it with me during 2005 then I would read the NWT with her during 2006. She refused my offer but I made the same offer to her again at the end of 2005. Again she refused so at the end of the year I made the offer that we could read the NWT through together in 1 year.

Again she refused telling me that once every 3 years is enough. Funny thing is that they spend 99% of their time reading Daniel.

Imagine my surprise when 2 jws gave me a copy of What Does the Bible Really Teach assuring me that it would prove that Jesus was Michael! It didn't prove any such thing but on page 7 under the heading Get To Know Your Bible it says "... Also, why not start a program of daily Bible reading? By reading three to five chapters a day, you can read the entire Bible in a year."

I haven't yet made Mom an offer for 2008 because I'm wondering if she might possibly make me a Bible reading offer.

For His glory,
JOYfilled

I expected a better answer from Achtung Hess, like the JWs' capability to make adjustments and correct their own errors, something that "Christendom cannot do" -- rather than an appeal to pity with that link he posted.

Don't forget the scripture proof texts...

Because what is printed, officially, by the JWs leaders is God's latest 'new light', 'revealed truth' that he discloses to them. Until it's in print from the Watchtower Society, it is not God's time to divulge it. Here's one statement by those leaders:

'Rather, the record that the "faithful and discreete slave" organization has made for the past more than 100 years forces us to the conclusion that Peter expressed when Jesus asked if his apostles also wanted to leave him, namely, "Whom shall we go away to?" (John 6:66-69) No question about it. We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the "faithful and discreet slave" organization.' (i.e. themselves!].

Note the blasphemy of equating going to Christ with going to the F&DS class/organization? But don't stop pointing things out to JWs because even though individuals dare not admit it publicly, they will know themselves that they heard it first from a non-JW. That gives them a problem they need to think about.

It is Witten......." So shall my WORD be that goeth forth out of my mouth:it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please ,and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it "..

God is Still God and He's WORD will last forever.....and doesnt matter whether one believes it or not........its Still the ONLY REAL TRUTH....

In reference to Angel of Death, your name epitomizes the very ideals of the JW's who don't believe in Heaven or Hell. I don't even bother to speak with them since there is absolutely no way to reach them with the truth. Anyone who denies the divinity of Christ is of Satan.

Because the watchtower is their guiding force. They don't read from the same Bible that real Christians read from. The JW's only believe what their cult preaches and won't hear the truth from anyone outside their group. Pick up the book "Reasoning the Scriptures with Jehova's Witnesses". It is awesome.

It seems necessary to remind the questioner that Jehovah's Witnesses do not argue with their students or householders.

Oh, brother.

Maybe because YOU read it first in the Watchtower (some places get it earlier than others) before they did?

It's called psychological indoctrination. It is very akin to mass hypnosis.
