All the years the flu bug shows up as different sysmptoms, depending on the type that is the "in" bug of the year.Influenza viruses are divided into three types, designated A, B, and C.

There is always:
1. fever (usually 100 F to 103 F in adults and often even higher in children),
2. respiratory symptoms such as
= cough,
=sore throat,
= runny or stuffy nose,
3. headache,
4.muscle aches, and
5.fatigue, sometimes extreme.

Stomach upset preceeds the so called "stomach flu" which is the wrong term for a short term gastrointestinal affliction consisting of diarhea and vomiting.

Fever is the most reliable indicator of the flu if you have all the other respiratory symptoms. Off to bed with you ! Get some rest, lots of fluids. and sleep.
