ADHD; I think some of them are kids who just need more attention from their parents.

Now it's getting even worse, some of those kids are getting diagnosed with Bipolar now.

Also, some people are put on antidepressants who don't really need it. For example, some old people are given antidepressants when their spouses die--grieving is a normal emotion.

I think ADHD is overdiagnosed. A lot if kids eat a bunch of sugary stuff, then bounce off the walls. If parents cut out the sugar, make the kids get enough sleep by going to bed early, there would be a lot less hyper kids.

Depression -- at least in the US.

Why? Flip through the nearest magazine and count the ads for SSRIs.

I am not saying that people aren’t actually and seriously depressed, because many are, but some people see those ads, go to their doctor, and get a script. I think we need more behavioral therapies like CBT, less SSRI ads, and, well, we need a whole new concept of “happiness”.

ADD and ADHD are way over diagnosed and over medicated.
