Because all the media is out trying to attack Jesus right now..probably because He's coming back soon. Da Vinci code, all sorts of different media events try to prove that Jesus never died on the cross, or didn't rise again or that he got married, all sorts of things. Jesus did say that everyone hated Him first, so they continue to do so.

What I find is that I'm often attacked by Fundamental Atheists, and since the majority of Atheists are in the western world and Christianity is the most predominant religion here its the logical connection. Often fundamental Atheists had to deal with Christian upbringings and in a way its a rebellion from their parents. As well being the home of Christianity the Western world is home to some of the craziest Christian fundamentals, and while they do not represent the whole of our community we get the back lash. I'm sure Muslims also feel that they are constantly attack with 9/11 and what's going on in the middle least. In the end fundamentalists are the ones that attack other religions and misrepresent their own, this goes for Atheists too. It can be very frustrating when as soon as someone finds out your Christian they decide to ask "How can you believe in God? Are you stupid?" this sort of attempt at conversion is as annoying to me as any other religious zealot. At the same time though there are very many good Atheists out there. So more than anything I feel it's affected by where you live and world events.

If someone argues with a Christian they were probably a Christian once theirself and now take offence to it. In America Christianity is the most prominent religion. In Muslim countries Islam is argued. In India former Hindu's attack Hindu beliefs. I'm a atheist and a former Christian. I challenge ALL religious beliefs, trust me. I can also say Christians attack the beliefs of Muslims. That's why we're at war, they aren't just attacking their beliefs, they're literally attacking the Muslims. Christians attack other Christians. Evangelicals attack Catholics cause they drink alcohol, they attack Babtist cause they don't believe in the Holy Ghost. Protesants and Catholics have been fighting in Ireland since day one. But, those who choose to have NO religion are still the most hated. Tell someone you don't believe in God and gauge their reaction....

I hear attacks about quite a few religions all the time. It's a matter of perception. It's wrong to say "everyone" is doing it as obviously that can't be the case. It wouldn't be anymore right to say Christians are always attacking gays and lesbians.
If you're true to your own convictions, then it shouldn't matter who attacks your beliefs.

You are seeing more Christians attacked, because you are probably a Christian. This is what you know and are biased to seeing any other religions attacked. In reality many other religions are attacked as well. I am a Wiccan, and I me and my belief system is attacked everyday and it is unrelenting. I will probably be attacked for posting this.

People are ignorant of other religions, Christianity is easy to know about, if you notice they mostly ridicule Jesus, God, Moses, the Then Commandments, all the easy stuff. People simply don't know about Muhammad, Allah, The Five Pillars of Islam, Abraham, or other things. And religions like Buddhism and Confucianism have a low amount of followers in America so they attack the one they don't really have to think about.

Aha! What, you expect me to 'respect' one group of unsupported assertions more than another?
Bring 'em all on. I don't believe in any of the Gods. Not a one. From Allah to the Holy Trinity and every pan, satyr and Zeus between.
Although I tend to attack attitudes rather than beliefs, so I guess I have not really attacked the beliefs of christians.
Edit: Did I mention that agnostics have no reason to place the two ideas on relatively equal footing? Because they don't.

Perhaps it's because there are a majority of Christians in your culture/community/language group?
The Christian religion is the primary belief system in the wealthy world and it is rightfully suspect that this system is not as charitable as it claims.
