I think you make your own decisions. There are so many people who decided to make their own way in life. Lance Armstrong couldn't swim. He had to be put in a class with children when he was a teen. He was embarrassed but he kept practicing because he didn't like sports. He entered his first triathalon and won it. He could have quit swimming but he didn't. It was his decision and he made it.

Hard to explain I guess.
I believe we do make our own destiny to some extent. True there may be outside forces beyond our control that can affect our destiny beyond our control.
Example; I chose to go to College. A friend chose to stay home. We were both successful. Though I had a college education and made the choice to move to another State for work. My friend stayed home. So, I got to see more of the country something I would not have done if I stayed home. This an example of making our own destiny by the choices we make.
Next example; When I moved away to work, I met a guy that also did as myself and moved to another State. We worked together. Then one day he became disabled, not of his own choice, but, from an outside force he had no control over. So, this example changed his destiny without his intervention.
Today I look back over my past and think how my life would have been different had I just stayed home to work. The people I would not have met. But, by staying home, what people I did not meet.
Hope you understand.
I say; Life is like climbing a tree. When we first start there only one way up. As we go higher there are many branches we can choose to go out on. Each leads in another direction.

I think you have a destiny, but that you have to make the right choices to make it happen. This is where re-incarnation comes from. Except, it's always the same world, and the exact same life, only different decisions. When the universe finishes expanding, it then starts to collapse back in on itself. when it finishes doing that, there's a big bang, and it all starts again.
The end of time is when everyone gets their destiny exactly right.
This explains De ja vu. Because you really have experienced it before, I think it's a way to tell yourself whether or not you are on the right track, or which way to go with something.

Pilots don't fly by destiny, the have a flight plan. Ships don't sail by destiny they have a charted course. If you are waiting for destiny your plane is going to crash and your ship is going to drift.

I am the master of my own destiny, nothing happens in my life unless I create it.

I believe we control our own Destiny, now there are somethings we have no control of, but our decisions are our life.

I think destiny is like a forked road, it's up to me to choose which path I'll take in life.
