I heard from a sales guy at best buy that the 60 gig was overheating so they put a new chip set in the 80 gig to keep the heat down on it. I have no idea if this is even true. anyone know?

thanks

That sales guy at Best Buy has no idea what he's talking about if he said the 60GB PS3 overheats. He was talking about that Red Ring of Death console Xbox 360.

I've had my 60GB PS3 for over 11 months and it has not had any problems at all. Sony introduced the 80GB PS3 to be more competitive with the Xbox 360 Elite in hard drive space, and to cut costs on the PS3 because the 80GB PS3 doesn't have the emotion engine inside it that allows it to be compatible with the majority of PS1 and PS2 games.

What that sales guy said is not true. The PS3 is a reliable console and doesn't not have hardware failure.

Don't listen to the sales guys at best buy or any other retailer ...THey just want to sell you the extended warranty so they steer people to the 360 which does overheat and does die , (at least 33% of them do) so they can sell you the extended warranty...THe 60 gig US is the model you want because it is fully hardware backward capable.

THE ps3 is infact the most reliable console out there.

Agree with everyone. PS3 have no problems with over heating. Sony knows what they are doing.

They are not idiots like the Microsoft people, who made video game console that does over heat. You know which one I'm talking about.

The PS3 doesn't overheat no matter what model you get, it has an extremely low failure rate.
