Here are some good rods & reels for Inshore-saltwater fishing.

Spinning Reels:
1. Shimano-Symetre ($79.99)

2. Daiwa-Black Gold BG15 ($69.95)

3. Daiwa-Tierra ($114)

4. Quantum-Boca PT ($119)

5. PENN-Affinity AF3000 ($129)

You CAN spend more and get a Shimano Stella($450 +) or a Daiwa Steez ($499) but unless your a hardcore fisherman it would be overkill.

Your best bet is a Daiwa BG15 or a Shimano Symetre. If you want something a little "nicer" get the Quantum Boca PT.

Rods:

1. Ugly Stik Lite-Tiger Series BwSL220069 6' 9" 1 piece Medium Action. ($59.99)

2. Cabelas Salt Striker Inshore fishing rod ISS-703 ($79.99)

3. Falcon SS-7m Coastal Inshore ($99)

4. G-Loomis GL2 SJR783 6'6" ($140)

You just can't go wrong with an Ugly Stik in saltwater. Now that they have the "Lite" series, it's a "no-brainer".

Also, Salt Striker Rods are gettin' lotsa "good press". I guess they are the saltwater "sleeper" rod to purchase if your on a budget.

Obviously, if you can afford them, G-Loomis is the best!

There are other good saltwater rods out there. But, Ugly Stik Lite Series generally gets 9 out of 10 stars from most everyone!

Hope this helps ya out? Good luck!
