Does weight really matter if you look slim and tall?

Additional Details
My neice is 10 years old, weighs 110 pounds, and is 4 foot 11 inches. She is tall from her grandpa's genes and looks slim. But she is overweight! (not to the point she is obesed)
Her persuit is to be a model, she has the stuff, but her weight is the problem.
--
I have told her about losing weight, but she has told me that it's too tempting and she can't do it.
She barely eats candy, by the way.
--
Q: What do I do? Does weight really matter if you look slim and tall?

She is a little girl, please let her have a childhood. Ten years old is WAY to young to be talking to her about losing weight - she's going to end up with an eating disorder if you push this. When she's considerably older she can make her own decisions about what she wants to do to pursue modeling. Just encourage her to be healthy and feel good about herself no matter what she looks like.

Weight does not matter much at all.
Height/weight charts are do not tell anyone what they should weigh.

The true measurement is body fat percentages.
If you eat healthy and exercise then you will weigh what you should weigh so you will not have to worry about it.

People can weigh a lot and be muscular so the charts say they are over weight.
People can weigh what the chart says they should but since they have a lot of fat they are really over weight.

She might technically be slightly obese for her age team, yet she must be an early developer or have a bigger bone shape. If she does activities in college, she might have greater muscle. So this is totally annoying to declare, i think of it may be maximum suitable for mom to envision with the surgeon. whether she grew to become into to lose a splash weight, she could be on a medically supervised weight loss software by using her age.

I say, unless you LOOK overweight, weight isn't a problem. Muscle weighs more than fat anyway, so I say that if she looks slim and feels good about her weight, by no means does she need to drop a few pounds.

How do you know she's overweight? Have you asked her pediatrician?

If she is active and will have a tendency to grow tall, then I wouldn't worry about it. The harder you push, the more likely you are to create a problem.

Unless her doctor is concerned, I wouldn't be.
