that is like hitting a fly with a sledge hammer. besides, you should have finished the antibiotic when it was prescribed for something else, when you don't you create germs that are then resistant to that antibiotic, so it doesn't work anymore anyway. Shame on you. Throw the azithromycin away and see a doctor.

From pharmacology point of view, azithromycin is effect to treat skin or sofe tissue infection.Toenail related infections usually due to staph.or strep bacteria infection and belong to gram positive group.Azithromycin is macrolide antibiotic and is highly effected to control this group infection But if the antibiotic now you have is the the left over drug, then you will have 2 problem;1)this drug the effected date could expire.2)you may not have enough to cover the whole course.

Do you mean eurethromyacin? I suggest (and I cannot stress this enough): GO SEE A PROFESSIONAL SUCH AS YOUR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN!!!!!

Using old meds is a bad thing. It was prescribed for something else and should have been finished then. Never use and old prescription for something new. Even if it is an old disease that's come back.
