Any foods in large quantities are unhealthy for any dog.Chocolate, sugar or related foods will not kill a dog per say. However it can cause diarrhea to the degree that the dog becomes dehydrated and requires the services of a vet. Also, depending on the health of the dog and/or age feeding rich foods can be critical and lead to the death of the animal.Over long periods of time, like humans, even small amts of these foods can cause such things as,tooth cavities,a dull coat, obesity, diabetes, loss of fur ,increased agitation/activity and other symptoms,I could go on,but you can see these are problems that many owners do not think about.Just as an after thought, too much roughage also can effect the digestive tract. To be safe, find a food that the dog likes, stick with it,serve it in normal amts.(on the pkg.) and you will have a healthy pet that will give you many yrs of unconditional love.

I was told by our vet that chocolate, onions, and deli meats are very dangerous to dogs. They all contain ingredients that a dog's system cannot metabolize.

Generally, people think they're treating their dogs to "people food" but even if they don't get sick, they will most likely not get the nutrition they need that way, and they will probably be getting more fat and calories than they need.

Stick to dog food and dog snacks.

well pretty much all human food is bad for dogs, its cool to give them a treat here and there but if your feeding them nothing but people food theyre gonna gain alot of weight. But if youre set on feeding them people food stay away from Chocolate, grapes, and onions.
