OF COURSE WE CAME FROM MONKEYS!!!

The sister group of the apes is the Old World monkeys. The common ancestor of apes and Old World monkeys was a monkey.

And don't say "We came from a common ancestor" without specifying what sort of creature we had this ancestor in common with.

The common ancestor of humans and apes was an ape.

The common ancestor of humans and monkeys was a monkey.

The common ancestor of humans and fish was a fish.

Got it?

Absolutely right. "Ape," "Monkey," and "Fish" are not scientific terms, and do not describe specific species. We did not descend from gorillas, chimps or gibbons - but we descended from apes.

Ha! Good. By "you people" you mean:

Firstly, evolutionists. THEY are the ones who accuse creationists of being unlearned; that we didn't come from monkeys but from a common ancestor, whatever that ancestor may be.

And secondly, creationists do say that we didn't come form monkeys. But neither did we come from a common ancestor. How can anyone call our ancestor 'common'?

Umm... We didn't come from Old World Monkeys. Old World Monkeys are of the family "Cercopithecidae." Humans are of the family "Hominidae." The nearest common ancestor of humans and old world monkeys is a Haplorrhine.

Too long for Creatonists. Better tell them 'we don't come from monkeys' because they always imply modern monkeys in their question anyway, not our common ancestor who was (I totally agree) an ape.

I am now waiting for questions about why there's still fishes if we came from fish...

lol

You're incorrect. It is not currently known what the common ancestor was - just that we have one.

Have you ever seen a monkey pray or any other animal. Have you ever seen an animal think what will happen after death except only humans think of after life because we are created in God's image and have a desire to serve our Maker but many do not serve Him but a man made god or object

Our closest relatives are the chimpanzee and the bonobo. What's the big deal? *Drink*
