This is a friend of President Bush. Bush supports the President of Pakistan. Didn't Saddam do the same thing?

Not quite... Saddam ruthlessly tracked down and tortured/killed anyone who he thought was plotting against him... and their families. As far as Pakistan goes, however, it's a country that desperately needs democracy, but not everyone in that country wants it--particularly Al Qaeda and Taliban elements and their sympathizers, who tried to blow up Bhutto when she returned. I don't get the impression that this will be something that is quickly resolved. In any case, this doesn't have anything to do with Bush... this has to do with Bhutto and Musharraf.

Actually if you have been paying attention Bush is siding with Bhutto and is trying to get Musharraf to Stop.

Nice attempt at painting Bush as the enemy though.

Yes Saddam did repress his people and have you seen him in any headlines lately?

Like most Americans I want the situation to come under control, if that means ousting Musharraf then so be it. Well most americans who are not suffering from BDS of course, you know they have pill for that now.

What is going on in Pakistan is wrong. Pakistan is currently being run by a military Junta.

Anyone who supports democracy must agree with this.

Saddam didn't do the same thing! If the Iraqis congregated he'd have them shot, thats not the same as being beaten. Man, I've been beaten by cops when they arrested me! Not too bad but anyway, it hurt. Life goes on. It's a beating, it's not a killing. They can do whatever they want as far as that goes. What happens when people protest in Iran I wonder?

I think the people will continue to fight back until they get their constitution back....and I applaud their courage...and hope that Americans would do the same if the time were to come....

What do I think?
I think maybe we should send some of our long-haired maggot infested liberal hippie anti-war protesters to Pakistan.

it's a tragedy whenever non-violent protesters are beaten by government forces.
