Sounds like way too many drugs to me. These aren't sleep aids; they are drugs for anxiety and depression, which may be overkill for the problem.

I am also on Temazepam and Effexor. I think my body metabolism is so fast that the Temazepam wears off quickly, but it is the strongest. I don't believe that Sonata, Ambien, or the others would work for me. The one that also works is Trazodone, which is an anti-depressant that is sedating, which I am also currently on. I guess it depends upon your psychiatrist. Ask him first what he things is right for you.

Forget that stuff. An hour before bed keep the lights low or off. Light soothing candles. Do something realxing like yoga or self massage, deep breathing and the likes. Also instead of those cold little pills the doctors try to shove down your throat, get some strong Cannabis Indica that has a real good couch lock effect, and toke up.Side effects of these drugs could be anywhere from diahrea to chemical dependency. Side effects of pot are the munchies ,and giggles. Right before bed drink some boiled milk at a warm temperature and honey.Have a nice night.P.S. If music realxes you turn on some smooth jazz or something, and don't read ( before bed anyways). Reading could stimulate the mind.

That's known as Restoril and the only reason our doctors order it is for sleep. Effexor is primarily for depression and according to our PDR, there's no problem with combining the two. Just make sure you dont get too used to it.

Restoril/Temazepam works well for me. I've been on it a few months along with Lithium, and it does pretty well!

ask a pharmacist if it's okay to mix them- no one here should be telling you that.
but temazepam is excellent- I have taken it for sleep problems before.
